Pre-Treatment Instructions
- Shave the unwanted hair in the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, thread, pluck, or chemically treat hair in treatment area between treatments.
- Arrive to your appointment with the treatment area clean and free of make-up, lotions or oils if possible.
- It is crucial that you avoid tanning beds, lotions or natural sun exposure to the treatment area before your appointment. See client forms signed before treatments for details.
- Use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen of at least 30 SPF. However No SPF in treatment area 24 hours prior to laser appointment.
- Avoid photosensitive medications – let the clinic know of any medication changes throughout treatment.
- Avoid scrubs and active ingredients on the treatment area before and after treatment.
Post-Treatment Instructions
- It is imperative that you avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and tanning products to the treatment area.
- Use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen of at least 30 SPF.
- Avoid heat & sweating – workouts, hot tubs, hot showers, saunas for 1-2 days after treatment.
- Avoid scrubs and active ingredients on the treatment area before and after treatment.
- Avoid photosensitive medications – let the clinic know of any medication changes throughout treatment.
- Do not wax, thread, pluck, or chemically treat hair in treatment area between treatments.
- Temporary perifollicular edema (looks like heat rash), hives or itching can occur. This is normal, though uncommon and clears quickly.
- Rare risk of burn, blister or pigmentation change if precautions are not followed. See client forms signed before treatments for details.

What is Laser Hair Removal?
IPL is highly effective for long-term hair reduction of the body or face! Laser hair removal on your skin is very safe, there are no long-term risks associated with this service. IPL creates a photo-thermal reaction where light energy is transformed into heat energy. This light/heat depletes the hair follicle of moisture, burning the hair at the root. The beauty of laser for hair removal is that the machine is able to effectively reduce hair growth without affecting the surrounding skin in the treatment area. Some clients experience a quick “rubber band snap” flick sensation on the skin. This sensation lasts as quick as the light flashes itself. Thanks to the cool tip technology of our machines, treatments are relatively pain-free with little to no lingering side effects.
